Founder
Hiro Kimura / Ph.D., R.Ph.
Track record
Following his graduate degree at the University of Tokyo, he conducted research at a top laboratory at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His long-standing Drug Discovery / translational research collaboration with Genentech and Curis was launched in 2012 and became a global blockbuster. He went on to lead global oncology research programs within R&D at Takeda Pharmaceutical. At Astellas, he led the R&D and business divisions, contributing to the launch of multiple approved medicines through M&A integration. Further, as CVC site head in San Francisco, he led strategic investments and drove multiple special partnerships with top U.S. and European VCs, serving as a Board member and on Advisory boards — the division’s results ranked 7th worldwide.
